Burlesque

What is Burlesque?
It’s definitely something for the ladies. Burlesque is more of a sensual sexy style of dancing, a lot like cabaret. More hip movements like rolls and shimmies and shaking.
What age do you have to be to start?
This class starts from the age of 18+ and ranges from 24 year old women to 54 year old women so no matter your size, shape or age, this is just for you.
About the class?
The class is more sassy and fun as burlesque overlaps in meaning with caricature, parody and travesty, and, in its theatrical sense, with extravaganza, as presented during the Victorian era. The class is not overly sexy but rather kept classy and captivating. We often use props such as chairs, feather boas, hats etc. to bring a fun element. This style is all fun and laid back, with the efficient workout and you time that all women look for. Dance choreography is taught and rehearsed enough for each and every person to get the steps no matter their capability. If you’re a beginner, an ex-dancer or current dancer this class is for you.
What Attire should you wear?
You can wear any attire that is comfortable for you; if you prefer or would like to dance in heels bring them along. Cabaret heels can be ordered and bought.

Creative movement uses body actions to: communicate an image, communicate an idea or communicate a feeling. Creative Movement provides children with opportunities for noncompetitive, success-oriented and creative experiences. This class is COMPULSORY to each student that starts. There will be 1 class in the beginning of each month.
What age do you have to be to start?
This class is vitally important as it unlocks a kid’s full capability in dance and teaches them not to be self-conscious around others. I first leant Improv through Alex Wong and Tara Jean Popowich (famous names in the So You Think You Can Dance World) at a TDA (Theatre Dance Association) dancing course.
There will be 3 placements
Either;
Junior (3-10 years of age)
Intermediate (11-16 years of age)
Advanced (16 + years of age)
What is Improv?
Dance improvisation is the process of spontaneously creating movement. Development of improvised movement material is facilitated through a variety of creative explorations including body mapping through levels, shape and dynamics schema. Theater and Professional dancers use this technique to bond a group or an individual, giving a dancer the capability to grow beyond any boundary.
Benefits of Improv?
·         Their confidence is higher.
·         They are more poised on stage.
·         They are more likely to dance right through a forgotten section or recover from a mistake             without the audience ever knowing anything was wrong.
·         It helps free the creative mind.
·         It teaches them “you first, dance second” (Humbleness)
·         Encourage Self-Discovery
·         Improves Musicality
·         Inspires Choreography
What Attire should you wear?
